The exclusive meSync (Mitsubishi Electric Synchronization), a free custom App Store series of enterprise apps for the iPad, allows Diamond Alliance distributors, contractors and engineers to quickly and efficiently get all the latest information from Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating. Information includes product announcements, bulletins, marketing materials and videos targeted specifically for each group. For example, when information is published by Mitsubishi Electric via the meNEWS app, users will see a badge appear (a notification that attaches to the app icon). They can then open the document by clicking on the icon rather than having to open their email accounts and sort through their recent emails and new information from Mitsubishi Electric.
meSync is available to Diamond Alliance members through the Member Zone extranet. It provides exclusive access to selling and educational tools that are constantly kept up-to-date so the Alliance members always have the most accurate information available.
"meSync is a unique program using technology to inform, promote and educate," says Gabriel Weiss, Mitsubishi Electric's manager of the interactive marketing technologies group, noting that Mitsubishi Electric is one of the few companies in any industry offering this type of self-contained app store environment. "The overall concept of meSync began with the focus on using emerging technology to educate, promote and present Mitsubishi Electric's advanced technology, and the meSync Store is a focal point of that initiative. With 11 new apps, ranging from a variety of selling, information and promotional styles, the meSync Store will be a busy place in 2012."
The Residential Load Calculator app is designed to simplify on-the-job tasks while taking advantage of the iPad's large screen size and power. Released in late February, the app allows engineers and contractors to input data, instantly see calculated values, generate detailed reports and submit required load calculation reports to local jurisdictions and others. Calculations can be done on whole-home data or on a room-by-room approach, ideal for ductless product applications.
The app, a version of Carmel Software's HVAC Residential Load Calcs HD app, includes, among other things, a database of hundreds of building construction types (walls, roofs, floors, doors, windows and more) and weather data for more than 1,000 cities. It also allows users to create and store an unlimited number of projects.
The cornerstone app in a growing line of mobile residential applications, the Residential Load Calculator app continues Mitsubishi Electric's commitment to developing solutions to common customer problems. The app is currently available for $45.99 on the Apple App Store.
